With three stainless steel blades and all wood construction, this wood cabbage shredder will cut the time it takes you to make sauerkraut or coleslaw in half! A wood box holds the cabbage in place, making shredding fast, efficient and a little safer. The blades on this shredder are removable, but not adjustable. The blades on the Large size shredders are set at approximately 1/8' apart. With the large size cabbage shredder you will have to cut most large heads of cabbage in half before shredding, but a smaller head of cabbage should fit. This shredder will occupy a lot of space on your countertop or in your cabinets! This is a natural unfinished wood product. This means it does not have a varnish or paint coating on top of the natural wood. However, it is sanded smooth and ready for use. Poplar is an ideal wood for kitchen utensils as it does not impart any taste or smell to food it comes in contact with. The oil from your hands, as well as the food will naturally darken the wood with use. This is normal, and not a concern. Let the product dry in a place with good air circulation.
